Test the door through a full close cycle. If the door closes completely without reversing, the realignment is successful.
If you can't get the green LED to go solid through rotational adjustment alone, check whether the sensor bracket itself has been physically bent or the mounting surface has shifted. A sensor that's mounted correctly but whose bracket has deformed through impact can't be realigned by rotating the sensor — the bracket needs to be straightened or replaced.

Each photo-eye sensor connects to the opener via two low-voltage wires — typically white and white/black striped, or white and white/red striped depending on the opener brand. What to check:
At each sensor, confirm the wire connection is secure. On most LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie sensors, the wires attach via a simple two-terminal screw connection or a push-in terminal. A wire that's partially pulled out of the terminal, corroded at the connection point, or has been pinched by a door hinge or track bracket is sufficient to interrupt sensor function.
